Derma V
The future of vascular and Pigment treatment
Derma V is a long-pulsed laser incorporating KTP and Nd:YAG. It can be used to treat a variety of skin complaints, using cryogen cooling for extra comfort during treatments. The treatment sessions are quick with minimal downtime.
Price: from £350
Derma V can treat the following skin problems:
- Active acne – Derma V targets oversctive sebaceous glands, reducing oil production and inflammation. Breakouts are controlled leading to a healthier and clearer complexion.
- Pigmentation – Pigmentation problems such as melasma, age spots and hyperpigmentation are addressed by targeting melanin depostis in the skin. Its precise laser technology breaks down pigmentation leading to a more even skin tone.
- Acne scarring – Derma V stimulates collagen production and helps damaged skin remodel reducing the depth and visibility of acne scars.
- Skin revitalisation - The Derma V rejuvenates the skin by stimulating natural collagen and elastin production, improving firmness, elasticity, and hydration. This treatment combats dullness, fine lines, and uneven texture, leaving the skin visibly smoother, firmer, and more radiant.
- Surgical scarring - The Derma V uses targeted laser energy to break down scar tissue and stimulate new collagen production, gradually softening and flattening surgical and other scars. It promotes a more uniform skin texture and reduces discolouration, helping scars blend seamlessly with the surrounding skin.
- Hair removal - Designed for efficient and long-lasting hair reduction, the Derma V’s advanced laser technology delivers energy directly to the hair follicle, effectively preventing regrowth. It is suitable for all skin types, with a built-in cooling system that ensures treatments are both effective and comfortable.
- Vascular lesions – with unparalleled precision, the Derma V’s laser targets unwanted blood vessels, treating vascular conditions like rosacea, spider veins, and port-wine stains. The treatment visibly reduces redness and vascular markings while protecting the surrounding skin, delivering significant improvements with minimal recovery time.
Frequently Asked Questions
Lasers have different wavelengths for targeting specific vascular or pigmented areas in the skin. The derma V laser has two laser wavelengths that can treat pigmented lesions, vascular lesions, or stimulate collagen production for skin rejuvenation. Due to the laser’s affinity to specific areas, it causes destruction of the target tissue only, leaving surrounding skin minimally disturbed.
The price depends on the size of the area and the target structures. Some areas also require multiple treatments for best results. Prices start from £350.
This depends on the treatment carried out and the size of the treatment area, but expect at least 48hrs of swelling and redness. Treated pigmented and vascular structures can become more pronounced initially and then fade. Exercise should be avoided for up a to a week depending on the treatment. The area should be kept clean and cool, with a layer of simple moisturiser with SPF50.
Unfortunately, all medical treatments carry the risk of potential complications. The potential complications of the Derma V laser are pain, swelling, bruising, redness, blisters, scarring, hypo or hyperpigmentation, minimal or no improvement.
